Welcome
It is our great pleasure and honour to serve as the Co-Chairs of the 8th International Symposium on Experimental Robotics (ISER '02). This is the first time ISER comes to Italy and we are simply proud to host it.
We are most grateful to the Steering Committee as well as to the Local Organization Committee for their valuable and continuous cooperation. We also acknowledge the financial support by University of Cassino and University of Salerno.
As traditional, the symposium runs on a single track throughout four days, so as to offer the best possible interaction and discussion among the attendees. A total of 58 papers were accepted out of the 95 contributions, which have been arranged into 14 sessions. The program is enriched by 3 keynote speakers: S. Jacobsen, G. Hirzinger and E. Fukushima (representing S. Hirose).
Besides the technical contents, the dates and location of the conference. The cozy fisherman village of Sant'Angelo d'Ischia makes it a perfect place for a summer break. The social program is intensive: opening with a wine tasting, then the gala dinner, a boat tour of the island during the free afternoon, to conclude with a folklore party. We believe that, beyond landscape, history, culture, gastronomy ... you will discover the special taste of Southern Italian hospitality!
