Venue

The Eight edition of ISER comes to Italy for the first time and will be held in Ischia, the largest island of the gulf of Naples, with daily frequent ferry and hydrofoil connections from the main land. Ischia is also known as the "green" island for its rich vegetation as well as the color of its "tufa" stones. The island has a very varied landscape, including mountains, isolated hills, majestic promontories, slopes, plains, and of course magnificent beaches. Lying in the middle of a still unspoilt sea, the island is surmounted by its dormant volcano (Mt. Epomeo), which makes its presence felt via the many geysers and the mineral springs found all over around. Sant'Angelo is a charming little fishing village in the southern part of the island to be explored only on foot. The symposium venue is the exclusive Park Hotel Miramare, direct on the seafront, aside the small port and the cozy little square. A flower-lined avenue leads to the Aphrodite–Apollon Thermal Gardens with annexed spa center and private beach access, while a short boat ride takes to the famous Maronti beach, the most beautiful along the coasts of the island.
